iPad Pro 2022: Release Date, Rumors, And More!

The current iPad Pro was released in May 2021, and the upcoming model will be available soon. According to rumours, the iPad Pro 2022 will feature wireless charging, reverse wireless charging for recharging other devices, an improved processor, and horizontally positioned cameras.

When Is the iPad Pro 2022 Scheduled for Release?

There is no absolute assurance that another iPad Pro will be released, but there is also no reason to believe otherwise. Apple has released a new iPad Pro nearly every year since the first model debuted in 2015.

Logitech accidentally mentioned the sixth-generation iPad Pro when describing the stylus’ compatibility with iPads. This essentially confirms that we will soon see it.

Release Date Estimate

Cupertino hinted that a powerful Mac Pro model could be released at the start of 2022. Ross Young of the DSCC speculated first about the 15-inch MacBook, and now Gurman predicts the same. According to Young, Apple also intends to release another MacBook with a screen measuring between 13 and 14 inches.

DSCC predicts that the Apple Mixed Reality Headset, formerly known as Apple Glasses, will launch in 2023 with a triple display configuration. It will have two 4k micro LED displays and an AMOLED panel for peripheral vision. Young also predicts a larger 14.1-inch iPad Pro with MiniLED and Pro Motion for 2023, likely to compete with the Samsung Tab S8 Ultra.

Similarly, Gurman had previously predicted that a new Apple HomePod, with the codename B620 and the S8 processor, would be released next year. The new Apple HomePod, which features an updated top display with multi-touch functionality, is also likely to be featured at an Apple event in 2023.

However, Gurman predicts that Apple will unveil an M2 Pro chip before the end of this year. According to his newsletter, Cupertino is also likely to release new M2 Max and M2 Pro 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pro, an M2-powered 11- and 12.9-inch iPad Pro, and M2- and M2-Pro-powered Pro Mac Minis. Gurman predicts that these products will resemble their predecessors but have improved specifications.

iPad Pro Price Rumors for 2022

On the basis of Apple’s previous Pro-level tablets, we can assume that 2022’s tablet will be priced similarly, if not slightly higher.

The 11-inch tablet could cost anywhere between $800 and $2,000 for the Wi-Fi model and between $1,200 and $2,000 for the mobile/cellular models. The 12.9-inch iPad Pros with Wi-Fi connectivity may cost between $1,300 and $2,400, and between $1,500 and $2,500 with mobile connectivity.

Although we would love to see these prices reduced, we are not holding our breath. Apple did sell some iPad Pro 4th generation models for less than iPad Pro 3rd generation models, but the company has been adding more technology to the iPads, which generally raises the price.

Ordering Information

Pre-orders are anticipated to begin shortly after Apple unveils the tablet. On the day of the announcement, every detail will be available.

iPad Pro 2022 Functionality

If this iPad is released in October 2022, as expected, it will run iPadOS 16. If not, it will be shipped with iPadOS 15. Check out these links to learn about the upcoming software updates.

iPad Pro 2022 Hardware Specifications

Bloomberg reports that the back of the 2022 model will be made of glass instead of aluminium. According to the source, this will enable wireless charging of the tablet. It would also enable another rumored feature: reverse charging. This would allow you to flip your tablet and use its power to charge other Apple devices, such as your smartwatch or AirPods, by inverting it.

We can make educated guesses about the device’s screen size, RAM, processor, and storage capacity. Expect 12.9-inch and 11-inch models with storage capacities ranging from 128 GB to 2 TB, as this will likely be a repeat of previous years. Depending on the model, the RAM could stay the same at 8 GB to 16 GB. There will be both Wi-Fi and cellular versions, and a new chip, the M2, is likely to be included.

The 12.9-inch iPad Pro model introduced Mini LED in 2021. There are rumors that Apple will adopt OLED for some iPads in 2022, and analyst Ming-Chi Kuo previously stated that the company would continue to use Mini LED for its Pro-grade tablets. Nevertheless, according to Kuo’s most recent statement, “there may be no new products with the new mini-LED display size in 2022.” These devices will utilize the MagSafe connection.

An Apple analyst with the Twitter handle Dylan claims that the company is moving toward horizontally positioned iPad cameras to promote landscape mode. This transition could begin with the 2022 Pro models.

Be certain to return for updates. As usual, rumors and leaks regarding the next iPad Pro’s specifications will circulate as its release date approaches. Who knows? Perhaps we’ll hear that Apple will include the Apple Pencil with this iPad.
