The biggest cliffhanger in the Culling Games storyline happened in Chapter 173.
Megumi is unconscious, and Hana Kurusu has dropped like a death angel from the sky. If she was the one who hit Megumi in the face, I’m wondering. Megumi’s time is running out, but he still has one final trick under his sleeve, right? This will be disclosed in the Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 174 spoilers and release date.
In this chapter, we were also introduced to four new characters. Yuta Okkotsu slays the sorcerer Dhruv Lakdawala at 91 points like nothing at the trailer’s end. Yuta’s dominance over the other characters was demonstrated in a single panel. The most recent chapter updates for the Jujutsu Kaisen manga can be found here.
Recap of Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 173
Reggie dies after transferring all of his points in Chapter 173. “Don’t die like a fool; let fate space with you,” a wise man once advised. Reggie’s final words to Megumi before succumbing to his injuries were these. Master Tengen recognizes him, and the old sorcerer is taken aback by the fact that he has been alive for so long. Tengen may have misled them about the purpose of the Culling games when he described them to them, Megumi suspects.
Hanekozi is having trouble keeping up with Takaba’s unique cursing tactics. Following Kogane’s report of Reggie’s death, he retreats immediately. In the following panel, Megumi’s devil dog emerges and chases Remi. Just as he’s about to murder her, something unusual happens, and the demon dog vanishes. Hana Kurusu appears from the heavens and joins the rest of the party while Megumi remains comatose.
Dhruv Lakdawalla (91 points), Ryu Ishigoori (77 points), Takako Uro (70 points), and Kurourushi (70 points) are all introduced in this chapter (54 points). Four sorcerers, individually with their unique abilities, are all immensely gifted. However, the enthusiasm for these new characters was short-lived, as the teaser panel shows Yuta Okkotsu eliminating Dhruv Lakdawala with ease. That doesn’t speak well for any of the remaining three. The only characters I’m looking forward to watching combat are Hana Kurusu and Yuta Okkotsu.
Spoilers for Chapter 174 of Jujutsu Kaisen
Megumi’s health is at an all-time low right now. Hana Kurusu may be able to defeat him with a single cursed technique. I doubt he’ll make there in time since he can’t hope to catch up to Itadori Yuji, who is hundreds of kilometres away. As a result, the only realistic possibilities are Hakari Kinji and Yuta Okkotsu. Based on the teaser for Chapter 174, there’s a decent possibility we’ll witness a Yuta vs. Hana duel in the coming chapters of the Culling games arc.
Hana Kurusu, the sorceress capable of releasing Satoru Gojo from the Prison Realm, is also an important character in this narrative. As a result, Yuta is now unable to execute her. We’ll have a clearer sense of what’s going to happen next once the raw scans and spoilers for Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 174 are available. Before the chapter is released, check back between Friday and Saturday to see whether they’ve surfaced.

Yuji Itadori, a high academy student who lives with his grandpa in Sendai, is in exceptional shape. He avoids the track crew on a regular basis because to the time commitment, despite his innate competitiveness. Rather, he decides to join the Occult Study Club because he has the chance, paying regular visits to his dead grandfather in his hospital.
Yuji’s grandfather imparts two profound education to him on his deathbed: “always help others” and “die surrounded by people.” His grandfather’s regrets seem to be the source of these two ideas. Following his grandfather’s death, Yuji interprets these messages as a single declaration: “a proper death” is worth everyone.
Megumi Fushiguro, a witch, approaches him and tells him that he has lately come into contact with a high-grade cursed charm talisman. Curses, entities generated by bad emotions and increased by absorbing magical energy had in sorciers or other charms, were spread by his Occult Club companions’ decaying finger.
Yuji eats his fingers and becomes the host of Ryomen Sukuna, a strong curse, to protect Megumi and his companions from the Curses. He is helpless in the face of their might. All sorcerers must exorcise Sukuna quickly due to his demonic nature (and, as a result, Yuji). The body of Yuji has been returned to him, but he is still possessed.
Satoru Gojo, Megumi’s instructor, wanted to take him to Tokyo’s Jujutsu High School to present a proposal to his superiors after viewing this. It was just a matter of waiting Yuji’s execution long enough for him to devour all of Sukuna’s fingers and finally kill him.
